Host your next private event in Vanessa's Cafe!

We are delighted to offer our banquet facilities in El Portal's Maya Room or Vanessa's Cafe for your next private event.

Vanessa's Cafe is our charming coffee shop located just across from the main entrance of El Portal; we can seat small groups for meetings or private parties of 40 or fewer. There is a room fee of $ 75.00 dollars when you decide to have the room to yourself and you have fewer than 30 people for your event.

We require a deposit of $100.00 in advance to secure the reservation on any of our rooms. That amount will be credited against the charges at the time of the event but is not refundable in case of a cancelation.  

For groups of 20 or fewer we can print a special menu that usually includes three entrée choices along with a salad and a beverage consisting of a soft drink, tea, or coffee. Dessert can be offered, and we only charge for the number of desserts ordered at $ 5.00 per order.

For parties of 25 or more people, we strongly suggest a buffet service or set menu.

Below is a list of entrée options that you may consider. You might prefer and are welcome to discuss other buffet entrée selections. The cost of this type of menu is $ 24.00 - $ 28.00 per person plus tax & gratuities. The minimum number of guests must be guaranteed 48 hours before the event, and charges are applied for such number or more but not less.

Alcoholic beverages can be hosted by you or we can sell on a cash and carry basis. We have a full bar, or you could limit the selection to margaritas, wines, and beer. You can also discuss a bar budget with us. A set-up and bartender labor cost of $25.00 per hour will be charged when bar beverages are on a cash basis. There is no charge if bar beverages on a cash basis are sold by your server to groups of fewer than 30.
